ABOUT US

Nonprofit Foundation for Children of Incarcerated Parents

The Enai Foundation is a family led 501(c)(3) nonprofit built from lived experience. We provide caring mentorship, free counseling, and enrichment programs to strengthen children of incarcerated parents in the United States.

Our Mission

Peer Mentorship

A caring mentor is matched with a youth from the ages 10 to 25 and meets regularly with the youth. All young people deserve a consistent presence of a trusted adult.

Guidance and Role Modelling

Faithful Fellowship Youth Peer Support Program is a place for children to share their story. A true mentor makes a difference in the life of a young person.

Telehealth Counseling

Families never have to choose between getting help and paying rent! Families can receive free, confidential individual counseling via telehealth. It shouldn't be a right. It shouldn't be a luxury.

Case Management & Care Coordination

If family members come to a brick wall, we help them break through. Our case managers liaise with justice impacted families and direct them to the resources for basic needs they deserve.

Enrichment and Recreation

Beyond Barriers" youth summer programs ensure youth stay involved in the community, develop new skills, and volunteer. Physical activity helps foster children's own confidence.

Character Development

We model giving in our children's eyes. Youth who serve in their communities gain empathy, responsibility and a sense of self and possibilities.

Make Impact

Turn Your Compassion Into a Child's Future

You do not have to have all the answers, as long as you are prepared to take part in it. This may be through your donations, volunteerism, mentorship, or any other form, as long as it is important to that child counting on you.

FAQs

Answers To Your Important Questions

Children and youth ages 10-25 whose parent(s) or primary care takers are currently or formerly incarcerated attend our programs. We also have case management and counseling support for the extended family system as healing for one person is done more effectively if the extended family system is also supported.

Yes. All our services, such as one-to-one telehealth counselling, peer mentoring, and enrichment programming, are free for families. We do not think that financial constraints are a justification for a child to not receive the required support. Thanks to our donors and partners, that is possible.

Application form can be directly filled on our website. Once we receive it we will follow up with a member of our team to arrange a brief intake conversation. Then we do the rest and discuss with you and the child what is a good match for us and the child in our programs. It’s easy, and without judgment.

Absolutely. You can contribute to the most urgent need, sponsor an individual child, support a family’s year of services, or support a family as a monthly recurring donor. Various giving options are detailed on our donation page and all donations are tax deductible.

Collaborations with non-profits, religious groups, educational institutions, health services, and corporations are encouraged. Our partners assist us in our community engagement initiatives and in funding and connecting more families with services. If you are interested in becoming a partner with us, you may sign up via our website or reach out to us at support@enaifoundation.org
